ok, the ZR has now departed and im car-less, got a loan car for a couple of weeks. but i must buy before a week on saturday.

£15k
4 seats, childseat friendly.
needs to be quick(ish) sub 7 secs
i do prefer turbos (for ease of driving and will prob remap) could be tempting toward a larger engine, but not convince about vtec type engines, just too much hard work to get the best out of them for my liking.
under 3 years old, though older is fine, if clean low mileage example.
preferably not in the silly tax band. (yes i know its not a lot in grand scheme of thing, but the principle pisses me off)
no silly running or insurance costs (ie evo's, m3's etc.)

obvious car is focus st, but ive had one.

hit me.

Octavia VRS?

£15K will get a very tidy (possibly new) example.

drove the cupra before i bought my ST, didnt really inspire me.

golf gti, hmm, would have to the the edition 30 but they are 15k for a 3 year old car. coul have an s3 for that, which is far more car imo

vxr, can pick them up brand new for 15k. seems like a decent shout. old model though.

octavia vrs. a LOT of car for the money, dont really like the look of them to be honest.

I have only been a passenger in one that was re-mapped and was comfortably the fastest fwd car I have ever been in owner claimed to have seen 160 on the sat nav which I can believe. Well made car and also surprisingly good on fuel I was told 30mpg was achievable unless you drive like a nutter. Worth a try I would think as they must be holding the value quite well it appears looking at the market again so you may have the chance of a couple of year's cheap motoring.
