Hi, I've just moved to a new house and my one thing I'd like to resolve is the noise from the 1st floor when people walk. Some of the floorboards creak so I can screw these down again. My question is whether fitting two layers of underlay under the carpet can be done / will help? Or are there any other products hat may help reduce the noise?

thanks

If it's a new house, get the builders back in to secure the flooring. If it's new to you, by all means nail or screw the loose boards down but beware of piping/cabling underfloor.

I doubt two layers of underlay would resolve the issue, although it might muffle the sound a bit.

CF - total beginner's question: does one use them both together or is one superior to the other for use as underlay? ta
