I recently was speeding takeing over a lorry and there was a cop car sat on the bridge parked sideways, can police use there speed cameras from in there car or do they have to be out the car?

I would say he was just sitting there. Normally, the speed detecting equipment is carried around in vans and at worst, vehicles like the Ford Galaxy. A laser camera does not take up much space, but with tripods and other equipment it would fill the car up.

I think it's more of a deterent for the Police to park on bridges, it makes people more aware. Worked with you didn't it

Can the police get you from the inside of the car useing laser guns off bridges he was parked sideway?

I spotted a camera van on a bridge over the A21 Sevenoaks by-pass recently, aimed at cars on the southbound downhill stretch. Lots of warning signs been erected there recently but no evidence of a fixed camera as yet. Perhaps the signs are for this van taking up residence?

I was caught this way 6 years ago on the M56 by an unmarked Omega. Saw him pull away as I was going under the bridge and he set off down the slip road to catch me up. Such a nice man - he even let me watch a video in his car!

101MPH - went to court - got 6 points and £180

i wernt on about parked on slip roads, i was on about parked sideway on the top of the bridge, do they often catch peopl this way? if i had been speeding wouldnt they have came after me?
