E46 330d prices?

Depends on the age from memory they are 53-55 reg cars.
So at worst a 7.5 year old car.
When new auto leather msport would have set you back c£35k I really don't think your going to get one for that sort of money or if you do mega milage ie well over 150k needing work pads discs inspection 2 etc.
I'd say it would be better to go for the 184bhp instead you wouldn't notice the difference on the road in auto in manual clearly would as one is six speed.

My friend has a 330d 204bhp version with 162K currently on the clock.
He bought it with 150K and other than a service and new tyres its had no problems.
Drives great and just went straight through MOT with no advisories
Makes me consider selling my '08 reg 130i and going down the same route as i currently cover 25K miles a year.

Yeah I thought Id be pushing it wanting a 204bhp model. Would the 184bhp manuals be more obtainable in that price bracket? Or again are we talking minefield territory?
It's kinda minefield territory, but then again, if it's mechanically sound and everything stacks up why not. Just make sure that you budget for a set of swirl flap blankers and a full service (DIY) when you get one. Suspension bushes go regularly and can manifest themselves through the steering wheel as wobble under braking. I've had both the 184 and 204 models and if you can find a 204 version it's worth the additional outlay. Matt
You should be able to find one for that money with a decent history. As long as you aware that buying one at that age will mean replacing suspension components at some stage, receipts for work done would be a bonus. Basic engine is strong and reliable, some of the bits bolted to it are less so. Don't assume the turbo and injectors will live forever.
184bhp models are easily found from £3k upwards, 204bhp should be easily found in your budget.
