You know your a Le Mans nut when.....
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Finally signed up to piston heads. Quick introduction: I am still in school and doing my GCSE's but even though I can't drive legally yet, doesn't mean I am not as passionate as the next man on this forum. I went to Le mans first in 2006 and only knew that Audi raced their and didn't understand the whole endurance thing. However by Sunday afternoon I got the bug! I now can recite the entry list for each year I have been and haven't missed a LMS or ALMS round since that weekend, Le mans is almost everything I think about.
Sadly I couldn't go last year because of exams, and I can say it was one of the hardest things I have had to do. But I will be back this year, and I can't wait!
Anyway, this thread has been done on other forums but I dont think it has been done about Le mans.
Basically state a funny statement about your dedication to Le Mans:
Example: you know your a real Le mans nut when you listen to the entire radio Le mans coverage of last years race in hour segments each night for 24 days to keep interest.
Can't wait to hear the replies!

You start two threads on the same topic?
Yeah, I'm not sure how that happened...I went to edit my origonal post and it seemed to create a sepate thread, so I think I pressed the wrong button or something. I'm new to this so let me off, i'ts different to other forums I use.Perhaps from now on people shouldn't reply to this one.

You see a big old barge (BMW 7 series, Merc S class, XJ6 etc...) and the first thing you think is...
'That would be a brilliant Le Mans car'
This - and then wonder what it would look like painted up (roughly with a yard brush) in Gulf/Silk Cut colours. You see a big old barge (BMW 7 series, Merc S class, XJ6 etc...) and the first thing you think is...

You know you're a Le Mans nut when...
... despite know the route like the back of your hand, you still 'check' from time to time on Google maps and see how long it will take to drive down there. And you start accummulating all the camping gear for the trip in about March.
Or, you know you're a Le Mans nut when...
... you get cross that you can't book the Eurotunnel crossing for the following year on the Tuesday morning after you get back.
Funnily enough my only trip to the 24 Hours was directly after finishing my Physics GCSE. My old man picked me up from school and we drove straight to France. These are the only two decent photos I have of the race. Any of you Le Mans nuts care to name the year? Pretty easy one, really.
