has anyone looked at changing the rear wing mounts..

Been thinking out of the box and wondering is a cool carbon look a like mount could be used instead of the billet alloy ones?? Might look more modern and less bolt-on-go-faster type!!

Anyone changed theirs yet?

Maybe you could just anodise the alloy mounts ?

Not keen. To me, the machined billet ally of the wing mounts is one of the best bits of the car (aesthetically). Ally and carbon make a nice contrast (good enough for the new Porsche GT3RS).

Still each to their own and all that smile

As said - above, just anodise them black (or any other colour come to that) if you're after a more cohesive look?

Or each one a different colour?

Hi Dom
I could perhaps look at that for you, firstly I make autoclaved carbon / composite parts and secondly I have a Cnc router to cut whatever shape you want out of it.
I'm not at the stage of ordering a wing myself, so I haven't seen exactly how it's mounted yet. I don't see any problem as they're quite similar in design to motorbike footrest hangers which i've successfully made ( nobody to my knowledge has ever managed to do that) but if you wanted to PM me and then you could send me some more detailed photos etc. and I can then work out the technical stuff.
It would be something I would look at making for myself anyway, it would just be a lot sooner than I need them.

My Iva is booked for 31st of this month 8am......

Not sure what to expect really, with all the changes ive done, everyone who's worked on it has said " we will just have to wait and see" so who knows.

Although most fail it first time i will deep down be gutted not to be on the road.

Will keep the updates coming as and when.

I think unless you stick with the factory build it will always be a bit of the unknown on sva/iva.

Anyway fingers crossed that any failure will only be cosmetic.

i was thinking along the lines of solid alloy to start with , more aerodynamic in shape and slightly higher, then wrapping in carbon to see what it looked like...

The standard one has a flat forward facing surface area and if profiled would look less bolt-on .. ive even toyd with the idea of a 2 piece carbon cover which screws onto excisting mount..

Thanks Craig, fingers crossed.

Im quite liking the black struts, however saw an Audi R8 today with what im guessing was a GT3 kit on it. Had a huge rear wing much wider, looked great very aggresive. The struts were black (matt).
