Went along to an auction with my neighbour today and bought a car for several thousand £ on the spur of the moment eek

Got it home, mum doesn't appear too amused and the grandparents both moaned about me wasting the money frown.

Took it out for a run though and seemed to hit a wall of approval from everyone who saw / heard it biggrin.

Why can't people just appriciate that people like a nice car and that it is an investment?

What do the PH massive think?

(and of course this thread is useless without pics so.....

restored 1969 Volvo Amazon 1.8 biggrin)

Looks lovely.
Keep it nice, and drive it well!

We wouldn't be "pistonheads" if we didn't dothings like that, neither would the world be interesting if everyone saw things the same way as us. For one thing, that car would have been 10X the price!

Anyway, got to go, My wife is moaning about me constantly looking at cars on the Internet.

It looks a bit of a shed to be honest, although someones parked a lovely Volvo Amazon along side it.

It's awesome.thumbup

I always laugh if someone makes a negative comment about one of my purchases, because I know that I am more knowledgeable than they are about everything.

That's awesome, I love those single seaters. There is an Amazon blocking the view though, could you take a better picture please?

My neighbour tried to talk me into that Riley but I haven't finished the Landie yet so another project would be a waste.

Once again leave it to PH to condone the buying of silly old cars thumbup

I can just imagine being told to get a sensible car

"Ok get something sensible and safe"

"Honey I've got a new car"
"Does it have 5 doors?"
"No"
"Is it less than 5 years old"
"No"
"Is it sensible"
"Yes..."
"........."
"For a 10 year old rear wheel drive V8"

there's a red Amazon (looking a little worse for wear) in a workshop up the road from me.

I Can't think of a Volvo that I dislike.

My mate had a (red) Amazon that he kept meaning to restore

never got round to it and sold it on after about five years of it sitting in his garage

I love yours
