What is it?:

http://www.bhi.co.uk/Watch.html (scroll down to find the watch).

I don't want one. A mate bought one and was raving about it and I just wondered how it related to the £squllion quid tourbillons the 'proper' manufacturers make.

I.e. is is actually a tourbillon or just made to look like one?

Cheers

Real but Chinese made, which has a stigma attached that is perhaps not justified dependant on your viewpoint. I think some guys here have one.

Yeah, it's not a "tourbillon", it's a tourbillon. Just made in China but presumably must be decent enough if they are willing to sell them. If you can see one, you'll see it's not just an open heart auto like many "tourbillons" are.

Ok, my vacuous 'consumer' brain cannot compute....

Surely it's rubbish? smile

You can get the same watch off ebay cheaper and without he BHI logo. Bought myself one for my 50th and it's still working.

I own a chinese made SEA-GULL tourbillon, with in house chinese movement, which is beautiful and cost considerably more than the price of these. I would be interested to know how the movements compare if anyone knows?

Mine has kept excellent time and still gets plenty of rotation. There was a thread on this about 18 months ago.I think this is the best way to have a tourbillon because it is a little interesting complication

yes I was about to say exactly the same thing.

If ever there was a thread that would benefit from CF's input, it's this one.

^ Yup - that and the latest Mac developments, the new Lotus range and probably cats also...

I think he did do a characteristically full and detailed thread about these some time ago if memory serves.

I've got one too - not BHI branded, but the same watch nonetheless. Nicely made and keeps better time that most of my other watches smile £300 from fleabay.
