Morning all,

My Volvo V40 is currently at the garage having the front near-side coil replaced, after it snapped yesterday.

The garage (who I normally use and am happy with) say I only need replace the failed spring.

Should I ask them to do both front ones or is a single replace ok? Googling comes up with conflicting advice!

No idea. Possibly original. 140,000 miles.

Always replace suspension parts in pairs, any mismatch could lead to, shall we say.. "interesting" handling characteristics wink

If you're going to be keeping the car for any length of time I'd do them both.

While they're working on it I'd get them to do both. There's no point having to take it in again in 6 months when the other one goes.

Thanks everyone. I've asked for both to be done.
