Career cross roads

I need to try and diversify for just over 20 years I have been working in Civil / Structural Engineering consultants starting out as a trainee going through day release progressing to Cad Manager with Arup. In this time I have also done some project management as well, where ever I have worked I have always been given duties/ task over and above what would be deemed a technicians role. I made in hindsight a stupid decision in 2006 to go freelance I got 2 good years then the last two years have been a struggle. Bar the odd few months I have managed to keep working but my current employer is going to have to reduce staff so it’s more than likely I will once again be looking for another job.

I need to try articulate how the experience skills I have can / could transfer into another industry or what type of roles I could realistically peruse.

Recruiting, mentoring, programming work, checking work, training and appraisals were all part of my day to day role.
In-between contract roles I have done lots of residential work house extension planning / building regulation applications etc.
Any advice suggestions welcome.

That's quite an ask. You'll really need to either a. Choose a firm direction to head in and refine cv with that in mind, or; b. Craft cv in such a way that it helps a number of prospective employers get a feel for your competencies and if they are interested, then you can refine with a specific role in mind.
