weather will be very unpredictable in my experience of Spa , sorry for the bad news .
Bad news? what do you mean Baf - Spa in the wet is one of the most amazing track experiences anyone could hope for! If Ben wants an easy life he should sit in front of the Playstation - Spa is a track for proper drivers! You'll love it Ben - if at any point you're in doubt just give me the caterham for 10 minutes, jump in the passenger seat and i'll stick a smile on your face you'll struggle to shift in a hurry - that's a guarantee!

Tell the Italians to stay out the way
The germans can have performance and reliability, but the italians most definitely got the good looks!
that said, despite being a ferrari man through and through, i have to admit that if i was looking for the perfect road/track car compromise - it would probably be a 996 GT3RS. i feel dirty even suggesting it!

Will be there in a BaT Caterham and staying at Hotel de la Source near the circuit - hopefully the weather will hold out, not sure what it's like this time of year
Same hotel, so hope we will catch up at some point. I guess it will be wet, and just to make it interesting, I intend to drive on R888's, but will have some wets as well in the boot that will need spining on if to bad.jonnyleroux said:

Might take you up on that offer Jonny - word on the street is that you're pretty handy around Spa

Great, we are staying Friday and Saturday at de la Source, driving on the Saturday. Might be popping down to Beau-Site for some beers one evening also

LOL. I recall a long argument at the Beau Site and you now seem to realise how wrong you were that said, despite being a ferrari man through and through, i have to admit that if i was looking for the perfect road/track car compromise - it would probably be a 996 GT3RS. i feel dirty even suggesting it!

Will be there with my SR3 RS

O/T Is it pointless to take a low-powered car to a power track like Spa?
absolutely not. One could argue that given the changeable conditions its pointless to take a high-powered car to Spa!Yes, you'll struggle up the hill, but there's some downhill stretches where the car will never have felt so fast. Spa is about the corners anyway, not the straights.
I've been round in allsorts of things (including the fire marshals pickup) and it never ceases to amaze me how much fun Spa can be.
Whatever you do, don't be put off by the weather - that's half of what makes such a challenge. Historically (for us at least) March has been dryer than July - albeit significantly colder!
I'm getting properly excited now!

Thanks! I’m more worried about holding up faster cars (unintentionally of course) like all the Porsches and Caterhams etc.
I only got a standard Corrado VR6.
Keep an eye on your mirrors and move over for the quicker cars and it really doen't matter how slowly you go round. The slower you are, the more observant you need to be - that's all. That's why the wI only got a standard Corrado VR6.
kers who can't use their mirrors tend to buy really quick cars :-PJonny
