I have a 06 range rover sport diesel that has covered 51k, i have had it for 6 months with no problems.
It has been running fine but every now and again it chuffs black smoke out of the exhausts when you put your foot down.
I have hade both egr valves replaced and a new turbo but it is still doing it from time to time.
I would be gratefull for any help or advise.
Cheers, Lee

Does it have a DPF fitted? If so, it's probably just cleaning itself.

Air intake hose collapsing, or loose.. airleak on the egr system.
or faulty egr valves....

Worth getting it plugged in and diagnosed !!

007 style extra feature! Just wait until somebody is tailgating you after you've been cruising for a while, and apply right foot with vigour. Tailgater disappears in a cloud of black smoke!smokin

All older style diesel engines seem to do this, maybe fancy new design ones do too.
