997 GTS

Good friend of mine was nice enough to invite me along to a VW Beetle test day for the new 997 GTS... nice car but is it really over 400hp as didnt feel that strong...
Anyone else driven one?

It felt like my C2S +10% in all areas. I really liked it but couldn't justify one when the new gen is on it's way. Plus I have a hankering for some classic pork when I chop the 997 in at the end of the year. The GTS certainly felt good to me. The DFI lump is very smooth in it's power delivery so maybe that's why it didn't feel fast?

Could be the fact it was smooth but my mates C4s seemed just as quick on the way back home... Tried to get a go in the GT3 RS they had but that was just not happening, wallet wasnt busting out enough in their eyes for the 118k!

The standard gen 2 GT3 is all the car I'd ever need. It really is a sublime steer, I just don't have enough time or space to write about how good it is. Nirvana.
