Chatsworth 2011 - Who's going to what this year?

Would be good to see a few of the old guard, new owners, special cerbs etc this year. I think I will go to the Raceproved open day on the Saturday (maybe put mine on the dyno) plus the actual event on the Sunday at Chatsworth.

Anyone else coming along?

I will be there, did not make it last year. Have not sorted any accommodation yet, will probably end up camping depending on who I bring with me. I will be up on Saturday for the run out and would quite like to go to raceproved.

I have been into this campsite in my Cerbera. It a couple of miles outside of Bakewell but I dont think there is anything within walking distance eg pubs and restaurants.
But a nice setting:-

amazing location, local pub with reasonable food..... There is a cheaper campsite next door (Coopers?) but its a bit rough IMHO.

These are the lodgings on the estate. I would highly recommend the pub in Beeley. Very good food. No idea what the room rates are or if there is any availability.

I would recommend NOT staying in Chesterfield although this is far enough out.....

Other good areas = Hassop, Great Longstone (eg White Lion), Bakewell, Baslow or maybe out towards Ladybower should you want Snake Pass.

Also if you are interested in some amazing WW2 plane crash remains etc...

Up on the A57 Snake Pass in Derbyshire, where the Pennine Way crosses it at it's highest point, A mile to the north along the path, puts some big rocks to the west of you known as "Higher Shelf Stones". Up on the top of there is what's left of a Boeing B29 Superfortress. There's engines, landing gear, wings, and a memorial cairn.

The hills up here are that bad that there were over 140 aircarft hit them during WW2. Within the sighting distance of the B-29 are the remains of an Avro Lancaster, and a Douglas C-47.

Think I'll be up for the RaceProved open day in the morning (grab coffee and bacon buttie for brekkie) then go on the Derbyshire run out (grab lunch at the pub) on the Saturday. Will only be able to make the morning on the Sunday as travelling in afternoon to airport. Looking forwards to the weekend!

Last year a few people met up on the Sat night, I think it was in the Dronfield area for a couple of beers and a curry. Hopefully something can be arranged this yr.

Yep, refurb is off the cards again this year so I may as well tax it and use it.

By the way, I'm too posh for camping now. Too many years at Lemans has put me right off that. lol I think a good medium price hotel with fellow Cerb owners would be good.

gazzab should know one nearby.

Be good to travel up all together from the sunny South.

The Premier Inn Gazzab recommended looks good, although it does get booked up quickly. We stayed in the other Premier inn last year, chesterfield north IIRC, good enough for a bite to eat and rest your head.

Looking forward to it already.

I intend to go, but being a newbie I don't really know the format (other than loads of people pitch up in Tivs). Is there a programme of events?

I've got some family in South Yorkshire so I might tie that into the same weekend.

Just me and the nipper... Was going to head up Saturday too.. definately up for heading up with a few of the others from doon sarf.
Just deciding whether to camp or premier Inn it on Sat ....
