I think cars should have a GPM(Grins/Mile) Rating.

My Cappuccino has a tiny engine, skinny(ish) tyres, a lame Stereo, no airbags, seats which are a pain on long motorway journeys..

BUT its got a higher than average Grins Per Mile, the little bit of step out and oppo on a tight round about, or the flick on a sharp left hand junction.

You know what I mean,

So which car that you've owned had/has the best GPM rating?
fuel consumption/running costs etc not an issue.

My current Megane 250 Cup, especially when someone in the office says how nice it is and askes me what's under the bonnet.

Toss up between my old 205GTI and Clio 182. At a push though, I'd probably have to say the 205 GTI.

Massive toss up.

My first car (106 XSI) was great fun and being my first car made it even better.

106 GTI was fantastic.

Polo GTI with a 280bhp 20vt lump was great fun keeping up with things it shouldn't have.

Clio 172 is probably the best all round smiles!

My TT was more smiles due to posing factor, Ibiza was a lot of fun at 18, tough one!

I have had the pleasure of lots of lovely fast cars and am lucky enought to one one now.

However I agree the best car you can have for stupid fun is a hire car, with two being even better...

C43

oh and the fastest car. That is also easy, its a crew bus on the way from the circuit to the airport to catch the flight home.

I've owned all sorts of stuff over the years.

But the best fun I ever had was three years in this old snotter, back in the late 1980s.

It only had 80bhp, but it was a complete hoot.

Sold for £900.

More fun than all my current cars put together.

My mini (bmw style) was a good GPM holder, that was until I bought the supra! I use it as a daily driver, and love driving to work in it. Always start the day with a smile biggrin

Twingo RS133... Sounded absolutely awesome getting close to the redline and was such a nimble little car to throw about. Great fun.

Agreed on the Cappuccino front, we bought one over the MX5 that we testdrove and loved it.

My XI is also great on that front, especially on a track, only been once but it was a blast, EVO liked the one they tested in 2005 so much that they built one, can't say fairer than that.
