E65, pollen filter replacement reminder goes off on iDrive. Ring BMW stealer where I got them from last time - £92! Ouch.
Look up on a well known parts for european people website and order their best E65 pollen filter. £34 with free delivery.

Part arrives and I compare the new one with the old one. It's identical, except someone has helpfully ground off the BMW logo and serial number on the new one, presumably as they can't sell it as OEM. BMW can of course, and charge you £50 for the privilege!

Old one top, new one bottom....

Like anything in the world, you pay extra for "designer" brands rotate

What happens with regards to resetting the iDrive, or does it do this automatically?

You can reset it by holding in the mileometer button for a few seconds and a hidden menu pops up behind the speedo (or rev counter, can't remember which one) from which you can reset certain things.

Is there a space in the service book for stamps for microfilter changes?
