Slightly optimistic price, in my opinion. But still nice to see such an original though.

A deluded seller?

The UK version of the 205 rallye was nothing of interest merely a cosmetic special edition based on the xs.

The ' real ' 205 Rallye was a Europe only homologation special with some nice performance upgrades to help it win it's class in rallies.

The UK one was hard to sell new and is not worth a premium.

Weren't the euro ones 100hp and shared some suspension components with the 1.9 GTI?

I put much research into the uk rallye as I did want one for a while and the uk rallye comes with an iron block tu insted of the Aluminium block the 205 xs had.

Although it did have the twin barrel solex the xs had but it was still 10bhp down from the xs(85bhp)

If you want a tu 205 i'd get either a gtx,gt or xs

The European rallye had a much higher spec but not sure what.

I think it had

Twin 40's ?
Lighter panels?
Stiffer shocks springs torsion bars?

If they'd done it properly it would have come with an LSD and 6' speed box as well (like they did in France with a 16v 6 speed 309 Gti)

The UK 205 rallye was a bit of a let down reallye.

Talbot Samba and 205 Rallye all had a 1219cc Xu on twin 40's

I think? Been a while. Used to own a Samba Rallye, UK spec with the 1390 Xu. Ace car.

Those pesky europeans get all the good pugs! S1 106 S16, S2 16v 106 Rallyes, 106 GTIs with air-con, I'm pretty sure in germany they had a 1.9 205 Rallye too.
