Best latest S03 price?

What's the best latest price for a full set of S03s for the Chimaera, standard sizes.
I've just had a quote of £388 including VAT, balance and fit - seems pretty good to me.
Anyone know of anywhere cheaper?

That's not bad. Blackcircles are wanting £220 for a pair of rears.
www.mytyres.co.uk is the cheapest place I've found online

205/55 ZR16 S03 (front) £82.10 + fitting
225/50 ZR16 S03 (rear) £93.20 + fitting

They have a list of places you can go to for fitting, but the fitting prices vary - near me it is £7 per tyre. Therefore full set price is £378.60, but you have the hassle of the tyres being delivered to you then taking them somewhere else for fitting

So your price seems fine.

I got good quotes from my tyres and blackcircles but didtn want the hassle so went to Micheldever tyres (who have a website) which is local to me.

I bought S03 205 fronts & 245 rears and had a laser alignment (£25). Total was £450.

Also got Michelin Energys on the Golf the following week for <£250 including alingment.


They also put 10 PSI tooo much in each tyre for free!
This meant I left their yard sideways!
Stopped at next layby to let out a bit of air.

One thing I wondered, is that you see advertised:

S02
S02 Potenza
S02 Potenza Pole Position
S03
S03 Potenza
S03 Potenza Pole Position

... and I've seen them rated as ZR or WR at some places.

Is there any difference or is an S02 an S02, and an S03 is an S03? (if that makes sense)

I've just been to Micheldever today to pick up a pair of 195/45 R16 Toyos for my wife's Cupra.

Bracknell Tyres were £9 cheaper per tyre, but didn't have stock and Micheldever did.

To be fair, Bracknell said they could have them in by 2pm, but it would have cost me more than £18 in lost income to wait than to go over to Micheldever.

This made me suddenly panic too but I have the ones at the bottom of your list

I think that they sometimes dont put all the details in the list just to keep it short.

Mytyres are doing a special on Toyos if you can be bothered with the hassle. I read too many bd things about them here and for the sack of a few quid I went to the local.

As far as I am aware there are two different types for each one eg:

Bridgestone Potenza S02
Bridgestone Potenza S02 Pole Position

The PP's being a softer "better" compound for grip etc.. I had SO2 PP's on the Chimaera and couldn't fault them on the road or track.

Just got some 245/45ZR16 Proxes from Mytyres. £86.10 each delivered. Ordered last Thursday and delivered yesterday - no problems, so add a tenner roughly to fit and they were £96 each fitted. Blackcircles were £114 each.
I did get the fronts (205/55/15) from Blackcircles (£82 each fitted).

How d'yer do that? When I called mytyres on Friday (I can't get their website to work on my PC), they quoted £107.70 delivered for 245/45ZR16 Proxes.

Where did you get that price? It sounds very good to me. I'm in Gloucestershire and I need a new set of boots for my Griff - 245/45ZR16 and 225/50ZR15 - and for that kinda price I'll travel! Can you post or email me the contact please?

Ski Tyres in Cheltenham were always very good on price when I used to live there. That was almost 5 years ago now, mind.

Gaffer, roop, M@H, and the rest of the Cheltenham crew might be able to comment though.

Ive been quoted £330 all in for S03's, mine are 225/50/16 and
205/50/15, i havent got them on yet as the guy had to order them, they should be ready for w/end. This was from Formula 1 Autocentre. Kwit twits quoted £350 but you have to press them for these prices, ie 'so and so does them for this much'.I will confirm when they are on my car

I bought some rear (245/16) SO2 PP's local to me in the autumn for £79 each (IIRC)+ VAT fitted, I would imagine the fronts are a little cheaper. That was from Ledbury Tyres and Exhausts [phone].

Just looked at Mytyres and they are quoting £90 delivered for 245/45ZR16 Proxes and £119.90 for SO2's or SO3's and £81.50 for 205/55/15 (W rated)

Don't know why they have quoted you such a high price unless you asked for premium delivery.
