Does anyone know if the E36 M3 Saloon has Aluminium doors and bonnet the same as the coupe?? I'm looking to buy one as a track car. I've been reliably told the Saloon has a stiffer shell and can be made to handle slightly better, but was curious about the weight aspect.

I believe only some Evo coupe models had aluminium doors - the earlier ones. I think the proper GT model (the green one) also had them. I do not believe saloons ever had them and none of the cars ever had aluminium bonnets.

just looked on 94 options list for m3 no mention of aluminum doors also looked on 95 option list for m3 evo no mention in list a M review mentions them as part of the evo upgrade more than likley to keep weight down to compensate for the gearbox been heavier than the 5 speed one in the m3 just idea on that one
no mention anywhere of a 4 door getting any aluminium doors
also the offical m3 gt the green one was a 2 door you may find a tuner who did aluminum doors for the saloon but never herd of any
good luck looking for some

I have a 1998 Evo coupe, and I was rather disappointed that the doors and bonnet on mine appear to be steel, in that if you offer a magnet near them, the magnet is very obviously attracted to the car.

From Memory when i was selling these new, BMW deleted the ally doors after 2 years due to rattles and creaking issues.
