Rattle from tail gate (spoils the engine sound track!!)
Discussion
Hi All,
Got a really annoying rattle / squeak coming from the back of the car - its either the Sagaris badge rattling inside itself or that part of the body rattling against whatever is behind it. (I think its the badge becuase David Gerald have just fitted a new one and the rattle wasn't there before)
Couple of questions -
How do I remove the badge to put some packing in it?
How do I get behind the body work in that area of the car to see if it touching something behind it
As always, thanks a lot in advance for any help

you can remove the box that is underneath the tailgate locl inside the car, this will give you access to the inside of the back panel, badges, and reverse and fog light.
its not coming from anything inside the box? tins of tyre inflator stuff ect? or even the box itself as its only held in place by a couple of self tapers.
is the tailgate a bit loose? easy to adjust by moring the lock down a bit.

Hope you've found your rattle!
If you didn't, I have had the actual aluminium tailgate adjustable bolt come loose, but also the actual catch plate which is held by two large posidriv screws,to access this you need to remove the horse shoe shaped rear leather trim. Refix the screws using loctite.
When loose it don't half rattle!

Not solved the problem yet but will be taking a look tomorrow night

Jesus - is anything on a TVR simple??!!
Found my rattle - it was the bolt that goes into the Sagaris badge 'knocking' into the back of the speaker. BUT, can you get to it?? No, well I couldn't anyway!! How the hell do you get a spanner to the bolt on the back of the badge??!! I eventually managed to squeeze a piece of velcro between the two which seems to have solved it but would have liked to do the job properly.
