MPG?
Have a look at www.MBClub.co.uk for the thread on there with C63 fuel economy figures. You can get as good as 30mpg if you're careful.
But the noise will keep you below that as you now know......

If you are on here thanks for an entertaining tussle from the red 997 Turbo driver - staggering acceleration and noise and more than a match for mine!!
Now seriuosly tempted - anyone know what sort of mpg on motorway journeys?
That's very interesting - did it compare well with your turbo? Now seriuosly tempted - anyone know what sort of mpg on motorway journeys?
I came out of a C63 and into a Gen-2 Turbo back in November and the Porsche feels much quicker but it could just be my perception as the Porsche is far less refined so 'feels' a lot quicker. Without driving the two back to back it's difficult to remember how the C63 compares!
I still miss my C63 deeply and indeed, the Turbo has only lasted 4 months - whilst the performance is staggering, it just doesn't have that sense of occasion that the AMG had and I miss having a car that makes a nice noise. I'm not going back to an AMG just yet...I'm going to try a Maserati GT-S for something totally different and see how I get on with that (it has the style and sound but it'll be interesting to see if the comparative lack of 'go' bothers me!).
MPG - realistic on a motorway is about 20-22mpg (or 25mpg if you really try and keep it constant and below 70mph...it just ain;t going to happen so forget that). In town it'll average about 15-16mpg. On average I got between 18-19mpg across various driving.
My turbo in comparison is about 20% better (so, 25mpg on the motorway, 18mpg in town and an average of about 20mpg). Not bad for the performance it has but in relation to day to day ownership, I just preferred the AMG (although I am probably in the minority on that one).
I'd say the performance of the C63 is at least equal to the Turbo until approaching silly speeds.
Shame about the MPG as the Porsche returns nearly 30 mpg on the Mway and I do a 100 mile commute so my trips to the garage would increase by 30% so the mental estate is off the list.
The Maserati is a fabulous bit of kit - even worse than the C63 for MPG though....
