Has anyone had any experience of flash mapping/ chipping of a standard 4.0 tuscan. Are there any gains to be had in flexibility , fuel consumption, power and performance etc . If so who , where , and how much ?

Had the tuscan two months now, performance good in the higher gears, third upwards and foot to floor, but was expecting more down below so to speak , less than 5 secs to 60mph, mmm not sure. It is still a fantastic experience , looks sensational, and stunning, just now wondering if improvements can be made. Never happy i know.

Responses and experiences please. Begining to wish i had gone for and S or red rose edition.

Cheers.

You can easily get sub 5 seconds, you need ti use the full travel of the throttle and it is a very long travel.

If you want a remap I am sure TVR Power can do it

Sub 5 seconds to 60 is not hard, however you've got to be pretty brutal to do it. Hardest part is launching without too much wheelspin.

I think the tuscan launches best at 4k rpm with a rapid clutch uptake whilst feathering the throttle but not to rapid that you spin the wheels or bog the engine down. As soon as you're moving, off the clutch completely, foot to the floor, and grab the next gear at 7300 rpm. Should get to 60 in 2nd gear sub 5 secs if you don't fluff the gearchange. S with the CR box will do 60 in 1st and 100 in 2nd. cool

Thanks for the responses.

Just trying to get around the fact that getting the power down in the lower gears, is a very delicate balance of brutality and mechanical sympathy at the same time in order to achieve a fast start without bogging down or lighting up the rears. Third gear upwards and the car is ballistic. Perhaps ( and more than likely) i need more experience with the car to master the on/off throtle travel/position in the lower gears, just wondered whether smoothing out the engine map may help make the car easier to get moving quickly.

Cheers.

In my experience the throttle is very smooth and progressive and very easy to modulate due to the very long pedal travel. Definately not on/off. Sounds like you may have something not quite right with the throttle. When was it last serviced?

Also, what tyres are you using? Remember that in the current coldish conditions, normal summer tyres will struggle for grip. I've got winters on mine at at the mo and it's great in in the cold/damp compared to the summers.

However I'll be putting the summers on soon (F1 Asymmetrics) and on a warm day I can use full throttle in 1st and second without wheel spin and the car really flies.

So, check your throttles, and also your tyres.

I don't know anything about it other than reading articles, but Racing Green do an ecu upgrade. Apparently it smooths thing over quite well.
