Just fitted new hose into new slave cylinder - was expecting some resistence but the pedal just flops to the floor. Even when trying to bleed after some pumping the fluid just drivels out. I'm thinking it might the master clyinder as I've pumped the pedal with the pipe disconencted and nothing pumps out from the the resovoir - should this happen as I was expecting a squirt through an unconnected connector after topping up the fluid...??

Sound like your analysis is right. On older cylinders and going beyond the 'old' maximum point can ruin any (old and new) seals.
If you are lucky it could be that there is still a lot of air in the master cylinder.

Until now I got away with replacing the seals only of the clutch master and slave on the wedge, although you read due to the 'TVR installation' of the master revisions seem not to last very long.

I’ve had problems in the past with bleeding clutches, like sometimes the pedal will not and so on. To be sure you have a problem I’d use a pressure bleeder. If it still feel fookd after that then you know for sure. Regards Andy.

New masters and slaves cost peanuts, not worth the hassle of changing seals.

I'm afraid I'm away with work till next Sunday night so no access to my files... but I have posted this info in the past.
I purchased mine from a Triumph specialist and I seem to recall it was from a TR5/6. A girling unit, 0.7 diameter (off the top of my head). cost me £35 ish.... the diameter info is on the side of the casting.
It was this that had leaked on mine, I had had a slow drip of fluid onto the drivers mat running down the pedal... I literally fitted the new one, topped it up and pumped the pedal... job done!
If this isn't enough info and you can't wait till a week Monday, then I could ask my wife to venture into my MAN DRAW... eek and try to look for the receipt.... now, I know it's there.... argue but it may not be spotted if you know what I mean.... and the last time she went in there she found the two plates on retention that I'd forgot to mention...furiousweeping

Just ordered a TR6 Master Cylinder off the 'bay. I've got a new slave already on plus new s/s hose. We'll see what happens when I get it installed!!.
