Boot

Hi all,well got into the boot today with a crow bar .Firstly when i bought the car you had to play around with badge to open.After a few weeks problem has got worse so now it just dont open.I presume the button/switch has gone will remove badge and check there first,but any other pointers,also going to disconnect relevant box in bot and clean.OH by the way when i push badge i cant hear any motor or any noise at all,also boot switch was doing the old double click when she did work.Cheers all

First thing would be to get as far as the switch.

Then you can see if it works when you short the contacts manually.

That'll determine if it's the switch that is faulty.

That was my plan bud thanks for the imput,going to order new foam for badge and a switch just in case.is the switch the same as door switchWas getting dark in garage so was unable to see properly

I have the exact same problem, and started to fix it yesterday, As Ireland says, go through a process of shorting out the switch, wiring connectors to diagnose where the problem is, In my case, it was the switch. Last year it was the solenoid itself.

I've got the switch out, need to get to Maplins for a new one, looks like a standard round panel button (like the engine kill switch).

Think its the same as the door switch bud can be found at rs componants the ref is on here about 5 squid
