thats really bad news for evo lovers.... ef u mitsubishi hope your company dies after putting a lovely piece of machinery out of its misery. life wouldn't be same without the evo's R.I.P... i'd rather die than to live a life without these power-hungry monsters.... didnt think it'll end so soon...
and who needs an electric car that does 0-60mph in 16 secs!!! at least be descent!!
my question to all evo owners, after hearing this are you ever gonna sell your evo?

This is good news for EVO owners, regardless of year of EVO they own. They have now just become a commodity and will hold on to their used values, perhaps even going up in price for a long time to come, after the last one is sold.
They were produced in such numbers it could almost make them a currency. Eventually trying to get hold of one will be a tough prospect when owners keep hold of them or start trading them for silly money.
Well done Mitsubishi. Subaru should learn from this!!

Of course I'll sell, whilst very capable cars, there are other cars equally capable and many that offer better handling.
The ACD/AYC equipped cars are also a ticking bomb when it comes to reliability, as I found when trying to identify a fault on my car.
Whilst the MLR general veiw is that they are a reliable car, a search for ACD/AYC problems reveals myriad threads recounting problems with the hydraulic pump and associated systems. And a fix is not a cheap job.
On the topic of an Electric Evo, you do realise that as battery technology improves, a 4 x motor in wheel evo with 400bhp is a very real possibility with the nice party trick of being able to vector torque at will, making a car that would out handle any current Evo by some margin - it's not all doom and gloom.

People who buy Mitsubishi cars are very well aware of the company and what it stands for, and certainly will not be put off if they manufacture both electric and petrol cars. The wider market, that buys fords etc, will not all of a sudden say ‘oh I see, Mitsubishi are not all about performance and are now a tree hugging company with thoroughbred green credentials’ and start buying them.
Like Subaru with the hatch STi, thinking they can widen their appeal... It’s a classic case of 1) getting above your station 2) not understanding your customers... I could easily see myself owning a Evo and a daily electric car made by Mitsubishi. However, stop making the Evo and would I be so bothered about being loyal – no. Is everybody else (non-petrol heads) going to start buying this brand – no. Long terms prognosis – terminal.
Idiots.

but thats the problem! evos will be extremely rare and most of the people who want them wouldn't be able to get one.... and it seemed to be getting more and more popular everyday....They were produced in such numbers it could almost make them a currency. well they arent gonna make an electric evo they're killing the whole thing infact they're killing other models aswell like lancer, colt, galant etc... and they've already made an electric car which looks like vagina that goes to 60 in 16 secs.... well they are gonna stop making it i mean if they're gonna go green thats fine with me but atleast keep the legend going... i mean look at other companies they have all types of cars from electric/hybrids to gas guzzlers.. but mitsubishi is going electric/hybrid only and from the looks of things those cars are so ugly... mitsubishi is going down from here i think cos evo lovers or mitsubishi lovers are gonna go to other manufacturers for a better looking/better overall electric/hybrid or a fast performance car which mitsubishi wont have..... They had the concept in 2006. Mitsi have not conclusively stated that we won't see an electric or hydbrid, only that the Petrol is dead.
