I've just noticed a sticker proclaiming this on the stem of a friend's mtb. Fair enough, it looks fairly cheap so cheap, breakable components, and I understand the company's rationale for said sticker. But why would you buy a mountain bike you couldn't jump??? anyone seen something similar? there was a 'drive cautiously' sticker on a dodge viper tg tested a few years ago iirc rolleyes
pics if I can be bothered. Which I probably can't.

My Commencal Meta 5.5 isn't designed for jumping, which is fine, because I don't really want to do it.

Some of the 'don’ts' you get on Marzocchi forks are pretty strict too.
They're largely to give them an 'out' on warranty repairs and of course legal recourse if some idiot tries to jump Springfield gorge on some lightweight xc racer or BSO.

Most quality stuff will put up with the sort of small jumps and drops you get on normal XC trails but it's a fools errand to try to say that a certain bit is suitable for a 2' drop to a decent tranny on reasonably soft ground but isn't suitable to a 1' drop to flat or 4' peak to peak double etc etc.

A Meta 5.5 is a brilliant trail bike that can and should be jumped over and off the normal stuff you’d find ‘on the trail’ I wouldn’t enter the Rampage on one but it’s not like it’s designed to have both wheels on the ground at all times.
