renault clio gt fault

Hi, i bought my CLIO last October , with just 62miles on the clock the Airbag warnig light came on, now despite repeated attemps to cure it , 4,400miles i still have an intermitten light on , does anybody no what my rights are ? the car is going back into the dealership next week(again). I have been in touch with Renault UK and they have fobbed me off when i say that the car not what i want and requested a replacement new one. I have been very patient through out this time.

It will probably be the connector under either the driver or passenger seat...There is not a Renault in the universe that hasn't had a dash light randomly appear at some point in its life. Simply take it in and demand that they fix it properly. My Clio has had the engine management light come on so many times I don't take any notice of it any more. It's on right now (if the car was running, obviously).

Sometimes you should expect the simple fixes, they work. Also, when asking for help and someone gives you an answer you weren't expecting, if you want people to continue offering help it is probably best if you don't give attitude in return.
You didn't pay £15k for a Clio, did you?

DFS sofas don't have airbags. 95% of Clio airbag faults are the wiring under the seat, its a common fault. Your attitude stinks to be honest, you deserve every fault you're going to get. £15k could have bought you a real car, too.

Your attitude is not really any better mate, the Clio is a very good car. Especially the Rebault Sport variety which are unbeatable at that price range.Your attitude stinks to be honest, you deserve every fault you're going to get. £15k could have bought you a real car, too.

very common problem, just fiddle with the wires n the light should go offI'm suprised that the garage haven't cured it though, if it is just this. Did they say what they thought it was??

Well, when I've just spent 19k for a Megane...when I'm sure some people on here would moan and say I should have bought a supercharged mx5...with being a new Renault owner, I have been warned about all these little niggles but so far so good for me. What do the Renault dealership say the problem is?
Hey hey to all fellow car friends, sorry if i came across with attitude, my last Clio and Magane were fine, am just fed up at the moment .... Been years in the the trade and i understand that cars have niggles....god have fixed a few in my day, but just fed up , original question was...what is the next step.....

Sell it and get something that isn't french. Tis your best bet£15k on a clio!

This was common on the previous gen ones and I fixed mine by cutting of the connectors and connecting the wires myself - it was a very common fault so you think Renault will still be using the same crap connector, especially as it is for the airbag that you would prefer working all of the time rather than reaching under the seat to fix it just before you go through the hedge...Even the basic Clio 1.4 16v I had was a hoot and much sweeter than the other cars in its class but the amount of s
t I had with it and the amount of money I spent fixing it just left a bitter taste in my mouth - I think I would like to go French again because they drive great but only when I have money to burn and can have it as a second car so it isn't a problem when it inevitably breaks...For those going on about the price - just because they are relatively cheap is not really a consolation as what you save buying it you will spend on fixing it....I learnt that the hard way.
