This was one of the biggest cock ups the last Government made, so many of those cars are still usable, it's a crying shame.

Why don't they employ people to make a list of all the cars they have, create a website and advertise them all for breaking ?

The punter contacts them, they move the car to a make-shift workshop where the punter can take as much as they want off the car and pay a sensible fee then just scrap the shells ?

I am not green by any means, but think of the energy and resources that went into building those. Then think that every car there was replaced with a new one, with all the energy, resources etc.

Just wasteful.

Country is in debt. lets create a scheme where we will get everybody to spend more money to buy expensive products from Foreign companies, to send the money we haven't got to other economies.

Other than the pre-delivery vehicles there too, yep.

Massive shame, I remember some of the cars we took over to be scrapped, criminal.

Should definitely be able to go there and take what you want from the cars, even a nominal fee to have entrance to the lot.

Some of the things that came in, did deserve to be scrapped.. But some, we had an old Jaguar in.. A 19,000 mile Citroen Saxo in excellent condition. I've no idea why people done it.

To save the hassle of selling the car. Many people do not like selling a car privately. And if the dealer will only pay £1500, and the scrappage £2k, which do you do?
