I am finding my Sag a tad uncomfortable on our country roads..and still a bit bouncy on the the motorways.

I think it still has the standard springs and shocks..it there any adjustment to help soften the ride. I was even thinking of raising the car 10mm to soften the springs.

Any options?

Hi

Not all Sags are fitted with the same springs--some are harder than others, and I would suspect your's fall into this category.
As I do track days the original springs on mine were too soft, and a friend in the club swapped his firmer springs with me as he found them too uncomfortable.
You could put a post up asking if banybody finds ther Sag too soft who may be willing to swap suspension.
You both split the cost towards the labour.
Good luck

spring colours are a good indicator usually for TVR fitted (eibach) spring rates ..

hi linz, you can adjust the bilstiens by a small amount, also if you remove the spring, or possibly compress with some spring compressors you can raise the bottom of the adjuster ring, there is a wire type circlip that supports the threaded part of the ajuster, you may find that you can raise this into the next groove up on the shock body, if its not already set on the highest one.

my billies did seem fairly soft, I cant see any info on the spring with regards to the poundage, but the fronts are purple, and the rears are orange, does anyone know what poundage these colours may represent?

perhaps you need some nitrons matehehe

What sort of improvement are the Nitrons over the Billys Clive, I find the standard shocks pretty good.

Sag billies not known to have more than one groove to change ride height, but platforms can be adjusted to give 15mm -30mm ride height change.

Front spring pink 450 lbs
Rear spring orange 400lbs

Check Tyre pressures are 24psi no more

massive difference dean, my billies only had 15k miles on them, but the car feels so much more sorted with the nitrons, a big difference in my opinion.

My car (Tamora) has Nitrons & Eibach springs fitted and a friend drove it who has driven a few other t
Tamoras (fitted with factory fit shox) and said the difference was very noticable, they are much quicker to react over bumpy & rutted surfaces...You pays your money & takes your choice......... Another friend Barry Ashcroft also made the change to Nitrons and was very happy with the results...

I'd assume it'd have a similar or even more noticable effect on a Sag???

if his standard set up was to hard he won't like Nitrons, even standard the Sag is a stiff car compared to other Tivs,

It's only nutters who find em to soft.
