Pay as you go ??

Quite literally "in the news" from yesterday's edition of BBC Look North news summary. Film footage shows lots of stationary vehicles on the roads around Leeds at peak times. The report stated that government research has concluded that an increased use of public transport will NOT lead to lower personal car use or traffic levels. So at last they have realised !!

More worringly from the same report is that the research group concluded there would be a reduction in traffic levels by introducing toll roads. The report then cut to the motorist the camera team were "shadowing" for the report, and he said "If tolls were introduced, I'd have no choice but to pay them, I cannot use any other type of transport to get to work !!"

So, like most of the rest of us, he'd just pay the tolls. Introducing road tolls would just mean we pay even more, still get stuck in traffic, still no solution to traffic problems.

I think the solution is to vote for the Govt who accept that paying Road Tax, Insurance Premium Tax, Council Tax and Highway robbery Petrol Tax is enough to justify using the f roads.

This lot in power stated they would reduce road usage in 3 years, as this did not happen they have now claimed success because they have reduced unemployment so more people are using the roads ??!?!!? WTF is that all about
