RS2000 Mk2 Fuel pipe size.
Discussion
One of the many things I need to sort on my 1979 RS2000 is the fuel line: Where it goes into the carb the black flexible hose leaks at the joint. I've tried different clips and I've tried fitting new hose, but one type was too small and the next was perhaps a fraction too big as it still leaks. Obviously without this fixed it is dangerous and won't pass an MOT (this summer's objective).
It seems such a simple thing, but I can't find out what the size is meant to be. If needed I'll take a picture of the part and post back later.

I'm 99% sure that's what the last parts guy gave me, but it still leaks even with proper fuel pipe clips (as opposed to jubilee clips I tried originally). I'm starting to wonder if there is a leak from the metal stub itself, not sure if these screw into the carb body as it's a different colour metal, unless it's pressed into the carb?
Could indeed be the metal pipe from the carb leaking. Im pretty sure, IIRC that they are pressed in rather than screwed in. Only thing you can try is a bit of chemical metal around the base or if it is still leaking at the clip try a bit of PTFE tape around the metal pipe & slip the rubber hose on top.
Off topic, but I was looking on line for a radiator but could only find an alloy one for about £300. Surely these aren't anything that special that I couldn't just get a standard motor factor's recore jobbie? It's not leaking obviously, but the level does eventually drop and it looks pretty scaby, so I figure I may as well replace it while I'm at it (and tidy up the surrounding metal while it's out). Can't seem to find one anywhere online...anyone got an idea where I could try?
Had it running briefly this evening and the pipe was still leaking despite an exra tighten up. I confirmed that it was 8mm tubing I bought before and as the 6mm tubing I had didn't even go on, then maybe it is the stub itself. Can't imagine a replacment (used) carb would be too expensive if it comes to it, but I was toying with putting twin 40s, a fast road cam and an uprated head once I get it back on the road, so if I could sort the leak for now it would be good...
