Hi all,

It's my 25th birthday in November this year and I quite want a Rolex (or similar) from 1986. I've spied this one on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

Any ideas as to what this is worth? Not having a sapphire crystal puts me off slightly but otherwise it's spot on.

Any other places I should be looking to find something from the correct year?

Cheers

Wonder why it says 5513 in the description, and title, yet 5512 in the image of the caseback. Probably a miskeying but nevertheless, at that kind of cash it's something I'd want clarifying...

I would be reticent to buy a watch that valuable through eBay personally.

However, a nice 5513 of that vintage would be about £3,200 to £3,500 depending on condition & completeness of the package via TZ-UK

Try Ian Blowers jewellers in Hull, they're experts in second-hand high end watches. They could maybe source you one.

Have to agree about buying from eBay - few too many unknowns.

I'll keep an eye open on TZ-UK and give Blower's a call - thanks for the ideas smile

Edit: How do people go about buying from TZ-UK as they're not taking new forum registrations?

You can only register during office hours, mon-fri.

They are taking new members, quite a few popping up recently.
