Indicators or repeaters? Repeaters can just be pulled out with fingers/prised out with a flat bladed knife.

Think the indicators are a typical TVR job... I.e. take the wheels off, prise the cover off the front of the wheel arch, spend half the day cleaning mastic off, go inside, bandage your hands up from fibreglass cuts, wish you hadn't bothered starting on the job, go back out, put the new indicators in, and reverse the process.

Thanks. I mean indicators. I just did the repeaters - which was nice and easy.

Sounds like the indicators will be a long painful process (If only I'd combined with my headlight conversion 6 months ago!)

One of mine fell out (well 'in' really) a few months ago (they are only glued in I think). The guy at the garage was able to reattach it by reaching under the bumper and managed to avoid having to take off the wheel, access panel etc. Having done so, he realised he had forgotten to replace the bulb, which had gone when the thing fell out, but was even able to do this, albeit a little fiddly, by reaching up under the bumper. Why do you want to remove them?

Thanks.

I plan fitting white/clear indicators. I plan to first take out the old ones, and then size up what I can substitute.

I think I remember someone saying that the standard clear landrover/vickers/whatever it actually is replacement part is actually slightly larger, and requires a bit of effort to get it to fit? Could just be imagining that, though...

Having recently replaced the front indicators myself i can say, This is one horrible job. The access to the back of the lamps is terrible and they are held in with loads of mastic. I have two tips for you, One is to use a sharp knife to chop out the old mastic, This is really awkward as you cant see the back of the lamp while your arm is in the wing. You just have to cut loads of slots everywhere until you can push the lamp out. The second one is to first superglue the new lights in so that they hold still while the mastic sets. Good luck i hope you have lots of patience.
