My mates think I'm utterly mad for driving from Bath to Builth for an evening jolly. I went up there, met a mate and did some charging about on the Eppynt ranges. It's about 1h45 each way. Leave work on the dot, back for midnight and I get three hours of 'playtime'.

I've also done runs to the Black Mountain road Brynamman - Llangadog in an evening. I don't really see it as nutty TBH ... just a great larf.

I'm thinking I might make Devil's Bridge and back when the evenings get lighter longer.

Pointy - I am with you, I often take the long way home, go a long way to see a mate, etc. Just for the thrill of driving.

Can't wait for the long winter nights

Winter is good for that cold air boost, but I don't like the open moorland roads in the dark. I'm fine in the local area though, where I know the corners better.

As for my next trip ... not sure yet. Might go tomorrow if I get the urge, or on the weekend of 18th/19th. There is a North Wales meet on the 26th too.

Wish I could afford the fuel to go that far... often take a small detour, and nearly never use Dual Carriageways and Motorways, too many good B roads to explore...
