Coach Driver being an arse on the M4 last night

Heading east on the M4 last night I entered the 50 limit around Reading, I had just overtaken a National Express coach and was in the middle lane overtaking a couple of other vehicles with my cruise control set at 50 when I see the coach come steaming up behind me to sit a foot off the rear bumper flashing his lights. (The 50 wa verified by GPS as well so it wasn't as if the speedo is reading out)
As I was still moving past the vehicles in the inside lane I obviously wasn't going to pull left out of his way immediately, nor was I prepared to wind the speed up and potentially get zapped by the Gestapo so I sat there and continued to slowly trundle past the van while still being flashed by the coach.
As I'd finished the overtake I got another flash of the lights from him as I pulled in and he started to accelerate and begin overtaking me, unfortunately for him we were just reaching the NSL sign so I dropped a cog and floored it leaving him going somewhat mental with rage at me.
Exactly what was his problem? I seem to spend hours of my life sat behind coaches and lorries when they're elephant racing but when I drive at the speed limit and hold them up it's a different matter isn't it?!
Why do people get so wound up on the roads for the sake of a few seconds?

The worst bit of tailgaiting I've ever had was by a coach, coincidentally the same company, in pouring rain on the M1 a few years back. It was beyond dangerous. I was a relatively new driver at the time and felt panicked by it but eventually managed to get out of his way.
In hindsight, I wish I'd reported him. No shaddow of a doubt, his driving was endagering people on a busy wet m-way. I dare say he could see over the spray, but I and almost every other road user wouldnt have been able to.

I've absolutely no problems with anyone going faster than me if they so chose, but I do not appreciate being tailgated or pressurised into going faster when I am driving with consierate lane discipline.Average speed cameras on the M1.. They do take up ALOT of the lanes when they go past though!
I do the newport 50 average limit drive a few times a week, doing a GPS verified 50 via my speed limiter on the Merc. You always get someone who wants to go faster than you, and charges up your arse, regardless of lane.
I always wonder what they know that I don't, since 50 all the way through is an average of 50!

Having said that though, considering how many other cars are in traffic with me, it doesn't really happen so often.
I'm happy to pull in and pull back out again if I know someone wants to go faster than me, but I did have some ignorant b
h on the M6 a while back who was so close at 70+ that I couldn't see any of the bonnet of her car in my rear view mirror, but couldn't pull back into the nearside lane so had no other option but to take the highway code's advice and begin to slow down. No idea why she didn't just use the 2nd overtaking lane anyway, and if we'd have come to a halt in traffic, it's the only time so far that I'd've been tempted to get out and have a chat - I was genuinely scared at what might've happened if I'd had to brake at all.

Don't think there is a mandatory requirement for limiters on coaches. I do know that only recently they were permitted in lane 3 too. dylan0451 said:

I've been going through the M1 average camera section (J10 to J12) at an indicated 54mph for months and haven't noticed any tickets yet. However I wouldn't give anyone a hint of grief until they're down to 40-45 for a fair while and the road ahead is clear (sumpremely irritating in the contraflow lane). Even then I simply move a little closer, nothing silly, or use an alternative lane where possible.
