TVR's fast?

Had my chim dyno'd a few weeks ago, the results were great at 345 brake and 346 torques.

A pal took his trusty Disco, (185,000 miles) to a charity dyno run for a laugh.

Recorded 75bhp and 105 torques at the fly!!!

He thought it went quite well .

No wonder our cars seem fast!

Your chim sounds in great health but that Disco........That is bad!! Even if it's a diesel it's well down on power.

Hi Paul.

I did the top end in the last few months, heads, inlet, trumpets etc.
Was 271 as you had it so a good improvement.

Must admit, it pales by comparison to your beast!

Maybe I should buy that when you get bored .

Can you explain what it is like in 4th gear 40mph clear private road then throttle wide open all the way to limiter. Are you able to lean forward and pull a blutsvked £50 from the front screen the old cobra 427ci test??

One fast mower My Honda push mower not powered wheels had a mere 5.5bhp I thought that was pretty epic just idled through any length of grass even sopping wet knee high grass beast

There's no doubt any recent(ish) TVR is a vast step up from any ordinary road car. But there are further levels of insanity. If you want truly mind-bending pace try an SR8 - around 700bhp/ton unladen, which is comfortably more than a Veyron Super Sport. Something like that feels as big a step up again as a 5-litre Chim is from a normal runaround.

You guys are missing the point.

The lowly Disco struggled to achieve about 30 bhp per ton!

Is here a less powerfull car?

Okay, fair point.

I suspect the Radical would be quicker round a track, though.

Coincidentally - and I know this won't apply to you dbv8 - but I'd recommend a quick Google on top fuel dragsters for anyone who hasn't seen the sort of performance stats they generate. The NHRA likes to state they're the fastest accelerating manned vehicles on earth and I suspect that extends to any manned vehicles full stop. Nought to 327mph in 3.77 seconds. Only a modified 1.2 Nova is quicker.
