Old with the old... In with the new...!!

Hi guys,

The time has come to sell our beloved little van - a Subaru Sambar VW look-a-like.

I'm interested to hear of any sugestions for it's replacement/new project.

We'd like something quite unusual/quirky - that is only really for use at weekends and for shows etc.

The only real 'must have' is at least four seats top cart the kids around.

You'd be surprised how camper van they look in the flesh, from a distance. Admittedly I didn't have my glasses on when I saw one the first time

Not sure if they are all the same but I had a look at one purely out of interest at the local place, gaps in the body panels you could drive a real camper though. look like a bit of fun though for zapping about, I think about 850cc and automatic?

Close. It's got a 660cc Supercharged engine.

Obviously, like you stated, it's a bit of fun and great for zipping around town. Not a full on VW replica. Oh, and the VW emblem is a genuine part.

Cheap Tax, low fuel but I bet the Ins. would be high?
I think its fun, would make a great first car for my nipper to and fro from college
if it had a bigger engine I'd take it down Lemans stickers and all !

I've never really noticed the insurance cost. I've got it insured on a limited mileage policy alongside our other vehicles. From memory, it increased our premium by about £120.

Thanks for the suggestions. I may bite the bullet and go for a 'proper' VW bus...
