E46 320d

I'm looking a two E46 320d's tonight and all I keep reading about is the turbo problems.

1 has had a turbo replaced (owner says old one seized), the other hasn't.

One is 03 plate and the other 53 plate...so both before the design change that happened on the 2004 cars? Is that right?

Anything to look for specifically? Not really been down the turbo/diesel route previously.

Will the one with the turbo replaced be the better bet if the turbo was replaced at a reputable garage?

Any advice appreciated.
