This isn't asking anyone what they earn, just curious to know what the masses have left after rent/mortgage, bills, food etc each month? Essentially money you can spend on anything. Just been paid and it was rather depressing to see my sum drop to not a lot for me.

I've not been too clever with the old coinage recently do I'm giving myself £50 a week pocket money. If it's not groceries or fuel that's my lot.

£400 odd, usually got £100ish left come pay day. That includes running the car.

It used to be £250-300, then I went Contracting and things are way better. But it could all end at any time.

After a couple of years of being flat broke/unemployed, I have worked my arse off, have no debts, no credit cards, no overdrafts etc and am better off than I have ever been.

Tend to have a few hundred left over at the end of each month to stick into the 'ferkle needs a new toy' fund.

Yeh after transport to work costs.

I see plenty of people are in the higher groups, as per what you'd expect here, must be lovely.

Still, it really hits home how you should be sensible, I've worked out that if
I took all my debt repayments off then I'd have nearly a grand spare each month. Roll on debt freeness.

There's always too much month left when I get to the end of the money.

You'd think so. I have alot of money left over each month but it's being stashed away for a mortgage. I crave savings. Where the hell anyone is expected to magic £20,000 for a mortgage from any time soon after you graduate is beyond me.

It's highly frustrating. I have the monthly income to support a mortgage, just not the obscene deposit the massively over-inflated prices in this country demand. frown

And i'm one of the lucky ones.

Since we had bambinos and MrsJem stopped work it's certainly close some months.
But will get to sunny times when (if) MrsJem goes back to work.

I only work during Uni holidays and reading weeks at the moment, so I cut it very fine. Everyone seems to be struggling to find jobs here at the moment, so I'm lucky I can walk back into my job whenever I'm back home.

i try to put away £500 away a month, it helps that i dont have a lot of outgoings still living with the parents and dont pay keep, because they want me out ASAP, so more i save sooner i leave.

In all seriousness, good on you. I thought there were none like you left.
