think i've heard someone say it was like a mini-goodwood FOS?

I went last year. I went on the train (for shame!).

It was an excellent event with a large crowd.

It was a typical hillclimb/sprint paddock in as much as there wasn't anything other than the competing cars to look at.

I also had the bonus of seeing an irate jogger argueing with a security guard claiming that motorcars were responsible for all the world's ills and that as a council tax payer of the borough they should be allowed access to the track to continue their daily run.

I presume that person hadn't ever been to Goodwood.

I would have gone this year but the wifes gone and booked a holiday on the same date

dad competed in and will be there again. go along! there was plenty of parking space some great places to watch from, added onto the fact it's cheap entery and lots to see i really do recommend it!

May be urban myth, but I heard that at Gurston Down speed hillclimb, one or more ramblers were demanding that they had the 'right to roam' down the course during an event, but decided that the public footpath (which the marshals in top paddock had already pointed out to them) may be a better idea when confronted with a single seater emerging round the bend after the finish line at about 150mph!!

I once attended a sprint meeting at Debden airfield near Saffron Waldon and someone's run had to be red flagged as a jogger appeared from the next door barracks and pottered across the live track.

It's obviously a common occurrence :-)

Last years event was great although it didn't seem to be widely advertised. I've finally managed to start doing some sprint events and am doing the hillclimb on Sunday 29th. I'm just about to fit a fibreglass bonnet so any wayward joggers might want to bear that in mind! Hopefully there will be an even better mix of cars than last year and a bit of sunshine wouldn't go amiss either.

I'll be on commentary with Ceri again this year, really looking forward to it.
Apparantly we will have classic bikes & a modern era F3 car joining the fray

I understand we have a slight change to the track - same route & distance, but start/finish lines moved back a bit (probably because of the post-finish line incident last year)
That should make the 1st turn (New Zealand bend) a bit faster.

Parking was a doddle last year. Looking forward to seeing the "Stovebolt Special" again this year.

the Dax, Ensign, Jedi & Stohr from last year are all back along with an eclectic mix from Wolseley Hornets to Smart cars (this year, the Teslas have been replaced by a pair of Delta E4s).
