Yes! Got Zapped today on my way home from work! Quiet country lane recently dropped from 40 to 30mph. Plod with Radar Gun!

Pity I came round the corner in second gear at EXACTLY 30mph, really spoiled his day!

Clean licence lives another day! Must be spring though: warm sunny day, shirt sleeve order, first cuckoo, Get Out There with the Radar Gun!

Watch out folks it's Spring!

P.S. Do you think that these microwaves could be the SOURCE of my paranoia?

I know someone who does a neat line in "Benny of Crossroads"-type hats lined with tin-foil.

They work too.

Me again everyone. Just wondering, how do these lazer guns work and will i spot the police car / officer near the road or will it be hidden. Im scared of the fact that i could get done and not know, at least with a camera you see it flash and have a few weeks to prepare yourself. So any tips or information would be nice.

Cheers, Regards
Ben

No warning signs in my case, just came round the corner at 30mph in 2nd, just in time to catch him running across the road from right to left, then swinging around "Billy the Kid" style. His car concealed in the hedges.

Hearing the revs he must have thought: "I've got one for low flying" but he hadn't.

Like the sound of the crinkly foil hat though Streaky, should go well with my Blonde ladies wig and Shades! (thay's not me! I've never seen that woman before in my life Officer!)

Oh please! Do you really think that this applies any more? Just point and squirt -- there's bound to be a few over the limit. Best to just leave the video running so we can pick off every one. Who could argue against a photograph? You don't need corroboration then.

Sorry, feeling a bit jaundiced today.

In Leeds recently I saw a car with a CD hanging from the interior mirror, and the chap I was travelling with said it was supposed to be a counter measure to laser type speed traps.

Does anyone know anything about the merits of such a ploy - does it work etc. ?

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Doubt it; the gun is usually aimed at the number-plate (AFAIK) - S

If it was a Gareth Gates or Robbie Williams CD then would result in Instant Ban and retest

Does not work.

If anything it may provide another reflective surface to target.

I had a discussion with a lorry driver once who know "wot knew what 'e was on abhaut init" who claimed the same thing.

When I explained briefly the laymans of how the lasers actually worked he looked confused for a minute then just walked off shaking his head muttering something about "bloody brainboxes"....

I think my grasp of basic english confused the poor fellow.

Only safety camera partnerships need to do this for fixed cameras. Police do not.
