I need to weld a new bracket on the front for towing.
Do I need to disconnect the battery or do anything else

Have you had a new stronger towing eye made out of mild steel?

Yes, and just to make sure, unplug the ECU

after the last hook was ripped off, yes i am making a new one

I'm in the process of making new towing eyes but assumed the existing chasis mountings would be ok. Did yours actually fail or are you just beefing it up?

thanks Adrian!... now i can't stop looking at carbon parts for my car. quite fancy a new front and rear splitter. rear looks amazing but isnt cheap (group buy anyone??)

Doh I was hoping you wouldn't say that and hoped it was just the aluminium eye that had failed.Back to the drawing board maybe?

Looking at the Reverie item suggests it won't cure that issue either even for a mere £99
