I've just finalised my Z4 spec, and have ended up with the following....

Z4 sdrive 35i M-Sport
Manual Gearbox
Space Grey
Walnut Leather
Sat Nav
M-Sport Suspension Deletion
Heated Seats
Wind Deflector
Professional Speaker Package
Park Distance Control
Extended Storage
Connectivity Package

I think that should do it, but any must have's missing, and beofre anyone says anything I much prefer the standard suspension to the harder ride, I donlt want 19"'s for the same reason and the same goes for Adaptive Suspension. Delivery in May, can't wait smile

lumbar support if it's available. I know it's a personal thing, but I cannot get comfortable in a BMW without it as the standard backrest offer no support at all

Finalised! No need to ask then.

But . . . personally I'd spec in the additional suspension as you're buying new. Take it Connectivity package has the satnav etc?

Well as you can't be bothered to fill your profile out we've no idea what you buy.

Does connectivity pack include USB connection?

If not I'd go for that as it's a big (and expensive) job to retrofit but only a couple of hundred quid up front I believe

Agreed.

Are the folding autodim mirrors standard on a Z4...?

I suspect not, in which I'd add those as well.

What, in the name of wobbly tits, has that got to do with anyhthing..?

There's a pic of my toy car on here if you do a bit of sleuthing.

I bought the other one when it was six months old and saved £11,000...

Space Grey with walnut? nono

Doesn't sound great, have you got a pic? I'd have red with grey personally.

Nice spec, but I think the darker colours are better suited to the new Z4.

Black w/red leather... cloud9

I'll try to answer the majority of points, my spec is finalised in my mind, still ahve a few days to tweak if need be. But to be honest i'm pretty happy with it right now.

As for buying a new car, well it was a no brainer, as I had been planning to buy nearly new, but such is the discount on offer and the value of the finance that it made a 6k cheaper used car more expensive per month with the same deposit.

Not fussed about Lumbar adjustment, never had it before, and mot missed it. The Connectivity pack does include USB so thats cool, I couldn't give a monkeys about folding mirrors, especially one's that dim, never noticed glare to be a problem before. Plus if you wanna fold your mirrors use your hand, simples.

The question of suspension divides opinion, and my mind is made up based on the cars I've driven, i like the ride firm, but can't bear it being crashy, and given our poor UK roads, crashing through pot holes etc is exactly what the M-Sport suspension does. The standard version just softens the edges slightly, whilst still remaining nice firm and taught and is more than up to the job, I would have been interested in Adaptive Suspension if it were possible to sharpen throttle response and peg back the stability without firming the ride. Could have the best of all worlds then, but as it stands if I were to spec it, and want use Sport + mode I hend up with very very hard ride, which I hate.

As for the colour of the leather, I had initially specced Red leather, but changed it as my current TT has red and fancied a change, the following pics show how lovely the walnut looks with grey....

Yes, shame BMW don't offer Walnut in the 1 Series, as I might have been tempted to order that instead of the Red.
