You! your fog lights are faulty. have you seen this?

I am now seeing with regularity, peoples fog lights turning on and off as they drive around! Ok lets not get into the fact they shouldnt be on.. but one side will just fade out then 5 secs later fade on, or both, then one...

Ive seen it so far on several skodas, a VW 10 plate and a few fiats..
Of course the drivers will never know, and it seems linked to breaking/turning at low speeds.

I guess there is a bad batch of fog light wiring going round the manufacturers from the suppliers. But it will never get noted as know will ever see the problem....

Anyone else seen it?

It's called active turning lights or something, it's not a fault, my Mercedes has it.

Turn left at low speed for example, and the lefthand fog comes on.

I've tried to find a way to turn it off on my car, I agree it looks a bit silly and I really don't see much benefit, certainly not enough to be useful.

Just seems a bit gimmicky and pointless, technology for the sale of it.

This catches my eye and irritates me too. If I get a car with this feature in future I think I may remove the front fog fuse, or the bulbs if this doesn't work. I've only needed front fogs a few times in the last 10 years driving.

Something else I saw the other day a Citroen DS's headlights changed angle as you turned the wheel!

Citroen build quality or do you think it was done on purpose?

Don't worry OP, i was driving a 60 plate VW Sharan the other day and caught the reflection in shop window that one foglight was on as i cornered. I parked up and had a look at the front to see if the other was broken. Then had to break out the owners manual to reveal they think this is a good idea.

Certainly at dark it helps - a bit like having swivel headlights.

4-wheel steering has been around a while
