Hi, i will be looking to purchase one of these in a few months 03/04 plate, under 100k mileage, however i will not be chancing owning this vehicle without a warranty that's for sure.

Just after some information on which warranty is best i.e. Mercedes tier 1? im presuming this warranty would cover the full cost of replacement in the event that the gearbox, ABC suspension, etc decides to play up? or is there any other companies that can match Mercedes tier 1 or better it?

also and finally in order to get a warranty does the vehicle have to have a full Mercedes service history?

I think for tier 1 it needs full MB service history and less than 100k miles.

Don't hold me to that though as I can't remember off the top of my head rolleyes

My understanding is that the ABC pump (which is around £1200) is not covered by the warranty. Also, one dealer suggested the warranty on AMG cars was being reduced significantly from the 100k mile limit ....

With regard to the MB FSH question, not sure about the warranty but you won't get the anti-corrosion cover without one - and my '03 CL55 went in 18 months ago to have corrosion removed from pretty much every panel below the windows, plus the C-pillars. The car is aluminium so I would dread to think how much the repairs and paint would have cost without the anti-corrosion cover ....

Interesting - I seem to remember PH threads in the past with tales of people who were refused the ABC pump under warranty. That said, mine was done but I was led to believe that was more down to luck!
