Not sure why but I thought I'd share the joy of seeing my first MP4-12C. It was sky blue with anthracite grey upper panels. Odd paintwork for sure, but it looked fantastic all the same. It was travelling at around 40-50mph for most of the journey but I had no intentions of overtaking... Makes me proud to be British!

They're so much sexier on the road than in pictures. I saw one on the M4 a month or so ago, lovely things biggrin

I saw one on the M40 a few weeks back, same baby blue, but the upper panels were White - I think the baby blue is a protective film, which only partially covers the side of the car

I think you might be right about the protective film because when we were at a standstill the blue 'paintwork' seemed to have a strange, mottled finish. It didn't look right and your explanation makes good sense.

Are you sure that wasn't vinyl wrap on the bottom of it to save it getting scuffed before it's given to the customer? Seen it on some guys Skoda in readers rides..

Saw an Orange one today at 11:22 anti clockwise on M25

Stunning. It had a nose cover on it. I guess being delivered too?

I might have seen the same one round Warwick last week. Sounded nice, and looked a lot better in the flesh than in the pictures

What's the general consensus of opinion on the aesthetics of the MP4-12C then?

Would need to see one in the metal to form a more informed opinion, but am massively underwhelmed from the pictures.

Until I see one in the flesh, I remain underwhelmed.

Not necessarily being delivered. They also test each car for a short time, to make sure everything is ok (or at least a lot of other companies do so).

I'm waiting for the first thread titled "McLaren thrashed my brand new car before I got it... How do I reject it" laugh

It looks OK I reckon except for the "black" rear lights which look like they've come off an 80s Fiero or similar.
