E39 530d Wheel bearing replacement?

Just after a bit of advice please, any idea how difficult/ how much it would cost for parts & labour (indy not main stealer!) to replace a front wheel bearing on a 530d? I am assuming they need pressing out? Cheers, Will

Yes mate, very hqppy with it overall, great car so far, just got a small noise coming from a front wheel bearing, so looking to get it sorted asap! I will get some pics on PF as soon as possible.

Can you get the wheel bearing separate from the hub? When i worked for BM we used to get them complete with the hub. A word of warning tho, the four bolts that hold them in are lock-tighted, a good impact tool will get them out but its often easier to remove the full knucle and place in a vice to get them out. I would also replace these bolts as the new ones come coated with the recommend lock-tight.

Did mine last summer, not too bad to be honest. The only advice is that is you unbolt your lower arms for better access with the breaker bar like I did, ensure that you torque them up with the car on its wheels, and weight in the car, 2 people in the front and 1 sat in the boot worked for me.
