I love the sound of my tuscan but i want to make it louder!
I dont want to put the insurance up with an aftermarket exhaust. Also i'm mates with my MOT mechanic, so no issues with emissions.
can i remove the baffles from the exhaust/de-cat it myself. and what would these do to to the sound?
thanks Daz

Hi Daz
If you have the standard cans then you can sleeve them, this involves inserting a tube into the originals, thereby creating a straight through can, if you google there is a full guide including the lengths of the tube and diameters needed. Very straight forward, if I can find it I'll post it. Only thing to watch is that they haven't been done before.

I've done this and it is really easy - I did both sides in an hour start to finish. Neighbour helped (and then wished he hadn't
)
You'll need 51mm outside diameter (O/D) stainless pipe, loads of places on the web can supply. Think mine was about £30 delivered.
Make sure your hacksaw blades are new as cutting stainless is harder than mild steel and use a half round file to dress the end into a radius for easier fitting.

Hi daztuscan,
my opinion is the same like Tony's. My Tuscan S (decatted and full sleeved) is not really driveable, it is too loud and the quality of the sound is poor (my opinion). I can sell You my Exhaust Carbon Cans fully sleeved - if you want to have them... That is the reason why I'm searching for a pair of quiete Tuscan S carbon cans (I would like to have original ones)...
best regards
MikeB.

IIRC length required is 400mm. I put copperslip on the first 50mm of the 'sleeves' and then tapped into place with a soft face hammer (I used a short length of gash tube for the final positioning).
For maximum effect, make sure all the perforations on the existing sleeve are covered. Only gets noticeably noisy at +3000 rpm and - - pops & bangs on overrun.
