Charmex Swiss Military Watches?
Discussion
Me Likey Likey Lots and under £350
Anyone had/know these?

Seems a nice alternative to the stylish Seiko Monsters, Anyone know much about Charmex?, they claim to be quite special and some models water resistant to 20,000ft

The 7750 has about 25 jewels for a chrono, iirc.
Yeah that's what I thought. RemainAllHoof said:
I cannae tell from the angle tbh. Normally, the quartz movement have the sub-dials it equally spaced around the centre.
I just meant the fact the seconds counter is at 3 o'clock rather than the more normal 9 o'clock on a 7750-based Chrono. LukeBird said:

Don't be fooled by the alignment of hands, sub-dials and date. That can all be changed. However, more relevantly, the seconds counter should be in the "middle" so it isn't a 7750.RemainAllHoof said:

company modded a 7750 to move the dials around? LukeBird said:
Yeah I'm aware of using a few cogs to switch the subdials about, although I've never seen that done on any watches other than fakes to make Daytona reps or whatever.

I didn't mean that. I meant that you could design a dial so that the sub-dials are in a different position eg 9-6-3 with the date at "4.30", and then have the hands pointing to the original 3 to designate midnight.Has anyone from a 'reputable'
company modded a 7750 to move the dials around? Well, you asked so...
For me, personally, I'd criticise it for these points -
The bezel - has no minute divisions making it unsuitable for serious use. (Perhaps even off DIN/ISO?)
The tachy - why is it aligned to 0 at 6 o'clock, also no markers that would be of any use.
I'm not keen on the over designed crown guard, can the chrono be operated underwater? Can it be read - it doesn't look too legible to be honest.
Stuff like this makes me think they aren't as serious as they say they are with this particular 'elite frogman' model, although they're not complete doofuses as can be seen from their 22,000ft model which whilst being massive, at least shows some sort of technical ability beyond sticking a quartz movement into a pretty (or not) case.
Guys that don't make their own movements or at least improve on what's given to them by whoever really have no excuse for not designing competent watches (dial, handset, markers, eye-ergonomics & case technology) - it's the only thing they have to do, after all - what's their USP otherwise
?
Just my etc...
