PC games not requiring a decent computer

I was just wondering if anyone can recommmend me a good game which can run on my not very good laptop.

Specs are: Windows 7, Intel(R) CeleronR) 900 @ 2.20GHz, 2.00GB RAM, 32 bit. Don't know what graphics card it has...

I don't mind the age of the game or genre. Stuff like Minecraft is great. I just want a bit of change from the old PS3. To give you an idea of what games my laptop has run so far, GTA III and Vice City, Microsoft flight sim 2004, Sim City deluxe edition. It could play all of those with ease.

So do any games exist which can still run on my laptop?

My computer is a P4 2.66Hz with 2Gb RAM and I happily play Battlefield 2. The graphics card has 512Mb I think.

Graphics cards is a Intel GMA 4500M but I can't find how many mb it is?

Cheers for the recommendation for Battlefield 2. My laptop should be able to play it if it has 512mb of graphics.

Hard to say whether it would run BF2 but it's a £10 game now... it just says on that site that it would only run older 3D games. BF2 is old but does it mean Wolfenstein old?

GTA San Andreas should also be playable. Very tempting that.

Edit: Just remembered that Flatout: Ultimate Carnage didn't work on this lapto. Very laggy. Its requirements were:
2.2GHz Intel, 2 GB RAM
256MB video cardsupporting DirectX shader model 3 (nVidia GeForce 7600, ATI Radeon X1800+ or higher)

So I guess it was the graphics card.

Off the wall but I still love Transport Tycoon. Which will run on a Pentium II from the 90's.

I find it so relaxing to not be shooting stuff but instead slowly amassing a transport empire and the Deluxe edition has some nice goodies like being able to buy up competitors etc.

Just did the EA system requirements check and... "Sorry.Your computer does not meet the minimum recommended requirements for Battlefield 2: Collection. You may still be able to play the game on your computer. Please see the results below."

Graphics card is too rubbish.

Rome Total War?

That is the only game on my laptop (1.8Ghz, 2gb RAM) and it runs well. Slows down slightly when you have a lot on the screen but still playable.

Where is the best place to get TT delux from?

Ive been addicted to this for weeks. Not sure what specs you need but i doubt its much. You et a free 1 hour trial so can see if your laptop will run it or not. (and see if you actually like it, obviously)

Total Annihilation. Runs on anything, still great to play and even looks far better than it has any right to once you turn the resolution up.

HalfLife and HalfLife2 will both run on "normal" computers with the settings turned down.

Minecraft is deceptive, graphically simple but math intensive, so you may have trouble on a low spec machine!

Works on my Atom netbook, albeit with the draw distance down low. As the code has been optimised it's been getting better (especially since the new lighting model)
